PRIVACY & COOKIES
Keep identity light. Keep discovery useful.
Fivehundrd is accountless by design: visitors can browse, save and share without creating a profile. The product uses first-party pseudonymous identifiers and limits the personal data needed to operate discovery, continuity, security and attribution.
Anonymous return visits
A random signed first-party identifier can be used to remember a previous visit, preserve My Finds continuity and protect accountless actions from simple identity spoofing. It is not intended to identify a person in the real world. IP addresses are not used as the primary visitor identity.
Discovery events
High-signal actions such as spot opens, preview starts and ends, Saves, Keeps, outbound clicks and shares can be measured to operate discovery features, improve the product, prevent abuse and understand how work is found. Low-value exposure data is aggregated where possible rather than stored as endless individual rows.
Embedded players from other platforms
Supported previews can use the maker’s own public destination through an official provider player, including services such as Spotify, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, SoundCloud, Deezer, TIDAL, YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, Steam or Substack. An external embed is not loaded until the visitor chooses to play, watch or otherwise activate it. Once activated, that provider can process data under its own privacy terms.
Placement media
Where a category accepts an upload, such as a look inside a book or a podcast teaser, that media can be processed into temporary optimized previews. Source uploads and placement-specific preview media are designed to be removed through the placement and storage lifecycle, while limited operational, financial, discovery and audit records can remain where needed for the service.
